What is Cek Bansos?

Cek Bansos is designed to give people a way to check information about social assistance connected with Indonesia's government welfare programs. The official website is operated under the Kementerian Sosial framework, and the accompanying application is published as Aplikasi Cek Bansos by Kementerian Sosial Republik Indonesia.

Can the desil change?

Yes. The official Cek Bansos portal describes desil as dynamic. If the classification does not reflect the household's real condition, the data can be updated through the desa or kelurahan, the dinas sosial, or through the Cek Bansos application by submitting information that reflects the actual situation. The portal says the desil is subsequently recalculated periodically by BPS.

This is one reason an old screenshot or an older result should not automatically be treated as the person's current classification. The system can change as underlying social and economic information is updated.

How desil relates to assistance

The official portal says desil 1 through 4, representing the lowest 40% in the classification, can be proposed as recipients for programs such as PKH and Sembako. It also states that desil 5 can be proposed as a participant in PBI-JK. These are targeting categories; being in a particular desil should not be interpreted as an automatic guarantee of a specific payment.

What is the latest Cek Bansos app update?

The official Google Play listing for Aplikasi Cek Bansos currently shows an update dated August 18, 2026. The listing identifies Kementerian Sosial as the developer and describes functions for viewing social-assistance participation, viewing recipients around the user's administrative area, submitting objections to recipients considered unfit, and proposing oneself or neighbors who are considered eligible for entry into the relevant social-assistance data. citeturn0search13

The same listing currently shows more than 10 million downloads and about 92,000 reviews. Where should you install Cek Bansos?

For Android, use the official Google Play listing where the developer is identified as Kementerian Sosial Republik Indonesia. Avoid unofficial APK sites claiming to provide a “new” Cek Bansos version. An altered APK can create security and privacy risks, and there is no reason to give a third-party site your NIK, password, OTP or identity documents.

Cek Bansos in 2026: what users should check

If you are checking your status, use the current official portal, enter the NIK exactly as shown on the KTP, and make sure the verification code is entered correctly. If your desil appears inconsistent with your actual circumstances, use the official channels described by Kemensos rather than paying an unofficial intermediary to “change” the result.

For current technical problems, it is also useful to distinguish an official announcement from individual user reviews.
